Kid Zone

Building strong and sustainable communities requires the ability to peacefully solve problem and to respectfully share resources.  The St George Day festival will help kids think about and learn these skills through innovative story telling, activities, spectacle and interactive games.  The event will include a variety of programming for families.

Giant Puppet Show - 2:30pm music stage -
that re-imagines the mythical story of St George and the Dragon into one in which the protagonists resolve their conflict through mutual understanding and learning to share the natural resources in order to live peacefully together.

* Local Artists Teach Kids Crafts
throughout the day for all ages.  

*Grow NYC
will coordinate a fun recycling relay race in which kid teams will pick trash items, and then run and put it in the appropriate receptacle. Fast thinking and fast running! 

* Join our Dragon parade!  2pm
March with Dragons Galore - a 35 foot dragon puppet; a Chinese dragon and a dragon made entirely out of recyclables will dance through and around the park.  Along with musicians, all ages are welcome to join the jaunt around the park. Dress up as as dragons or flower fairies!
